You might have spotted Hell Bus on the news, in Glasgow at COP26 or featured in the Joe Lycett vs. The Oil Giant documentary.
Now it is coming to Leeds!
But just in case you haven’t heard of it, Hell Bus is a satirical creation by artist Daren Cullen to expose the greenwashing activities of oil and gas companies.
Darren tells us that “The exhibition attempts to draw out the absurdity of oil company claims that they’re part of the solution to global warming while they extract and burn increasing amounts of fossil fuels. From running whaling ships on biofuel to creating polystyrene icebergs to replace those lost to global warming, the show is a fun but brutal take on fossil fuel propaganda and its consequences”
Hell bus will be in Leeds on the 9th, 10th and 11th of October. It will be parked on the Leeds University campus, in front of the Leeds University Student Union building (Lifton Place, LS2 9JZ).

AdBlock Leeds will be there! We’ve organised a special event on Wednesday the 10th of October from 6 pm alongside the exhibition. We’ll discuss the issues of corporate advertising, the role of AdBlockers and some of our upcoming campaigns and events, including our involvement in Zap Games. Find us next to the bus!
Hell Bus is extremely relevant for the work we are doing at AdBlock Leeds, as it is a direct criticism of the advertising industry and how it is used to perpetuate destructive activities. It feeds well into some of our campaigns, such as pushing for a ban on ads for harmful products.
So, as you can guess, we’re super excited to see it coming to Leeds, and we hope we’ll see you there too!
